The Albert Lea Public Library has made the health and safety of our library staff, our patrons, and our community a priority. We will continue to follow directions from state and local health officials in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The library building, with direction from the city, is closed at this time. The library is offering no-contact pickup for materials and Computer Use by Appointment. Check out the No-Contact Pickup page or the Computer Use by Appointment page on our website for all the details. Remember, our digital resources, OverDrive, Hoopla, and TumbleBooks are available 24/7. Don’t have a library card? No problem! Head over to OverDrive and sign up for an instant card for access to ebooks and audiobooks.

How do I return library materials?

Library materials can be returned in the book drop Monday-Thursday between 9 am and 6 pm. With guidance from the state, we are holding returned materials for 72 hours before returning them back to circulation. During the period of the building closure, there will be no fines on checked-out items.  Lost fees on all material not returned will still be in effect.
