Albert Lea Public Library No-Contact Pickup

No-Contact Pickup available starting Tuesday, May 26.

Due to the COVID-19 situation, the library building and city hall remain closed to the public. We are offering no-contact pickup for library materials in a manner that keeps patrons and staff safe while providing the community with the materials they need for learning and entertainment during this time. Please be patient with us as this is a new and evolving service. 

 

How it works:

1. Check out catalog for items you wish to request. Only Albert Lea Public Library materials are available for checkout, we cannot get materials from other libraries at this time.

2. When you have identified the item(s) you wish to request, fill out this form or call the library to place your request. You are allowed to request 10 items at a time, 5 of which can be DVDs. We will begin taking requests on Tuesday, May 26. The form will be linked at that time. 

2. Once your request is ready, a staff member will call you to schedule your pickup time. Please allow at least 24 hours for your request to be filled. Pickups are currently being scheduled Monday-Thursday from 3-6 pm. 

3. At your scheduled time, pick up your items using the Clark Street parking lot. A staff member will verify your vehicle description and bring the items out in a bag and place it on the ledge near the stairs. Please wait until the staff member is inside, then retrieve your bag, verifying the contents to ensure it contains your requested items. 

Returning Materials:

The book drop will be open Monday through Thursday from 3-6 pm starting Tuesday, May 26. Please place all returns in the book drop. No returns will be accepted during pickups. 

In following guidance from the state, the library will be storing returns for 72 hours before checking items in and returning them to circulation.

No fines will be assessed on materials that are currently checked out.
