Albert Lea Public Library No-Contact Pickup

No-Contact Pickup available.

Due to the COVID-19 situation, the library building and city hall remain closed to the public. We are offering no-contact pickup for library materials in a manner that keeps patrons and staff safe while providing the community with the materials they need for learning and entertainment during this time. Please be patient with us as this is a new and evolving service.

How it works:

1. Request items from our catalog, selecting Albert Lea Public Library as the pickup location. You can request items from other libraries and through MNLink if we do not have the item in our system. You can request up to 25 items at a time, 10 of which can be DVDs.

2. Once your request is ready, a staff member will call you to schedule your pickup time. Please allow at least 24 hours for your request to be filled. Pickups are currently being scheduled Monday-Thursday from 10 am-noon and 1:30-4:30 pm and Sundays from 1-4 pm.

3. At your scheduled time, pick up your items using the Clark Street parking lot. A staff member will verify your vehicle description and bring the items out to your vehicle. Please open your front or back window or trunk so staff can place your items in your vehicle. You no longer need to exit your vehicle to retrieve your items.

Book Bundles and Kits:

We now have Book Bundles available! Fill out this form and select the age level and subject, topic, or genre of the books you are requesting and our staff will handpick books for you.

If you would like to request Preschool Craft Bags, Adult Take & Make Craft Kits or Adult Coloring Kits, you may do so using our online form.

Returning Materials:

The book drop is open. Please place all returns in the book drop. No returns will be accepted during pickups.

In following guidance from the state, the library will be storing returns for 72 hours before checking items in and returning them to circulation.

Please do not place donations in the book drop. The library is unable to accept donations at this time.
