Start your summer adventure!

Join the Albert Lea Public Library and the City of Albert Lea’s Recreation Department for an Open House at City Hall to learn about our services and summer programs.


Staff from both departments will be on hand to assist with registration for summer programs, register community members for library cards, and answer questions.


The event will include crafts for kids, refreshments, information from community organizations, and a raffle.

Transportation to and from event

The Friends of the Albert Lea Public Library are providing free transportation to and from the event. Click below for details.  


Individuals can get a free ride to and from the Open House on the SMART Bus Route or by scheduling a demand ride to the event. Riders just need to tell the driver they are coming to the Open House Event at the library to get on the bus.

Bus from Clarks Grove

A school bus will pick up individuals at the Hillcrest Housing Coop at 4:30 p.m. and leave the event at 6:30 p.m. to return to Clarks Grove. Sign up is required. Sign up in the Hillcrest Office or by calling the library at 507-377-4350.
