Loan Periods: 

Items can be borrowed for two weeks and can be renewed twice. Items with open holds/requests cannot be renewed. As of May 1, 2025, the Albert Lea Public Library has auto renewal on all library materials. If items are able to be renewed, items will automatically renew.

  • Hotspots check out for three weeks and cannot be renewed.

You can have a maximum of 50 items checked out at a time. You may check out 15 DVDs.

Fines:  

As of September 26, 2023, the Albert Lea Public Library is fine free on all materials. 

Interlibrary Loan Policies: 

Albert Lea Public Library cardholders can request items from libraries within SELCO and from libraries around the state. When you receive a book through interlibrary loan, the book follows the policies of the lending library, including due dates.
