Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Albert Lea Public Library/Fountain Lake Bookstore encourage lifelong learning and enrichment throughout the community by raising non-profit funds for programs and equipment not covered by the general library budget.
Why Become a Member?
Every Friends’ membership directly supports library services and enriches our community. A membership also allows you early admission to the Friends’ semi-annual book sales.
Dues are $5 per year. Memberships can be purchased at the Fountain Lake Bookstore when volunteers are present or mailed to the library.
Fountain Lake Bookstore
The Fountain Lake Bookstore is located in the downstairs lobby (1st floor) of City Center. The bookstore has a wide selection of quality used books for sale. It is staffed during the week from 9 am – 3 pm by volunteers. All proceeds support the library.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic and the closure of the city building, the Fountain Lake Bookstore is unavailable until further notice.
The Friends typically holds two book sales per year, one in the fall and one in the spring. All proceeds support the library.
